Take a deep breath in. Hold it. Exhale.

Pick a colour 🔴 🟠 🟡 🟢 🔵 🟣

Find the moment below with that same colour, then go to the closing moment at the end.

🔴 Take a moment to recall the last time you walked to a place to eat. (And no, walking from your car in the parking lot doesn’t count! 😊) Now, think back to that walk and identify three different businesses, buildings, or landmarks you passed along the way. What stood out to you about them? Maybe it was a unique storefront, an interesting sign, or a memorable detail you noticed during your stroll.

🟠 Take a moment to think of at least three songs that have “walk” or “walking” in their title. Memory need a little jog? Try some of these to get you going 👉🚶🏻‍♀️

🟡 Take a moment to ruminate on a few quotes about walking:

🟢 Take a moment to think of your favourite shoes to wear when walking. What colour(s) are they? Do they lace up or slip on? Do you remember where you got them? Where did you walk the last time you wore them?

🔵 Take a moment to create a walk in your mind for whenever you need a break. Take a deep breath, hold it for a moment, and then exhale slowly for as long as you can. Now, continue to take slow breaths as you walk along a path in your mind. What does the path look like? What can you hear? As you walk, what does the path feel like under your feet? As you look ahead, what do you see? Observe the scenery around you, and when you feel you have gone far enough, take another deep breath and exhale. Remember that the path is there for you any time you need it.

🟣 Take a moment to learn the Dutch word uitwaaien (pronounced out-why-an) loosely meaning to walk or jog in the wind. This charming term is often associated with taking a walk to clear your mind, as if the breeze carries away your worries and stresses, leaving you refreshed and renewed.

A closing moment to take another deep breath and pause together. Hold it. Exhale. Smile. Walking is a powerful form of healing for the mind, soul, and body. Whether the steps are physical or mental, they hold incredible potential to restore and rejuvenate. So whether you are walking towards something that excites you or walking away from something that no longer brings good vibes, take those steps and keep moving forward.
