🔴 Take a moment to learn a little about the pause symbol. It is thought to have been designed in the 1960s from a combination of the square ‘stop’ symbol ⏹ developed by the introduction of the VCR and the age-old caesura symbol // in music.

🟠 Take a moment to create your own ‘pause button’ for when you need it most. Hold out your hand and imagine you’re holding a large remote control with one big pause button. Notice its weight, shape, and texture, and focus on the feel of the button beneath your thumb. Take a deep breath in, lifting your thumb, ready to press. As you exhale, slowly and firmly press the button, imagining the world around you coming to a complete pause. Everything quiets, everything stills. Feel your shoulders relax, your breath steady, and your mind settle. When you’re ready—only when you’re ready—take another deep breath and press the button again to let the world resume. Use this simple technique whenever you need to gather your thoughts, reset, or just take a moment for yourself.
