Take a deep breath in. Hold it. Exhale.

Pick a colour 🔴 🟠 🟡 🟢 🔵 🟣

Find the moment below with that same colour, then go to the closing moment at the end.

🔴 Take a moment to look around the room and find five things that are red. Next, picture your bedroom or kitchen and recall three red objects you would find there. Now close your eyes and think of the first two red things that come to mind.

🟠 Take a moment to think of three red foods, other than strawberries. If you had to make a red-themed meal what would you serve?

🟡 Take a moment to think of a red-themed song. Pop your pick in the comments and share the music with us all. What about a movie with red in the title?

🟢 Take a moment to reflect on the emotions the colour red evokes in you. Take a deep breath in and imagine the colour red. Where do you feel it in your body? Does it feel warm or cold, soft or hard? Interestingly, red is one of the most contradictory colours—associated with both love and anger, passion and power.

🔵 Take a moment to ponder the fact that red has the longest wavelength of light and is the first colour that babies can see after black and white. It is also said that women see more shades of red than men, due to the difference in chromosomes. How many shades of red can you think of?

🟣 Take a moment to delve into the origins of the phrase “seeing red,” often linked to intense, uncontrollable anger. The expression is thought to have originated from the tradition of waving red flags in front of bulls during bullfighting events. Interestingly, bulls are partially colourblind and cannot actually distinguish the colour red.

A closing moment to take another deep breath together. Hold it. Exhale. Smile. If you find yourself “seeing red” this week, take a few deep breaths to let the intense feelings subside. Then, shift your focus to something or someone you love, allowing the red to transform into a warm and comforting glow ❤️
