Welcome to your ✨Monday Moment✨

Take a deep breath in. Hold it. Exhale.
Pick a colour 🔴 🟠 🟡 🟢 🔵 🟣
Find the moment below with that same colour, then go to the closing moment at the end.
🔴 Take a moment to think about the last time you sat and watched the world go by. Where were you? Were you with anyone? What do you remember seeing?
🟠 Take a moment to get yourself a drink. Observe the process. What happens first? What sounds do you hear as you get your drink? How long does it take you? Do you drink it straight away or take it back to where you were?
🟡 Take a moment to close your eyes and imagine you’re a bird flying above the streets where you live. What things would you notice first? Would you see more cars or people? What sounds would you be able to hear?
🟢 Take a moment to learn some ways to be more observant in a situation:
- Slow down.
- Take time to observe before you react.
- Tune in to all of your senses to fully observe and understand what is going on.
- Be present. Focus on what is in front of you and happening in the moment.
- List important things that you notice by writing them down or assigning one thing to each finger on your hand if you don’t have paper.
- Train your brain by playing observation games. For example, next time you are in a car look for each letter of the alphabet on road signs, license plates and shop names. Or look for things that are each colour of the rainbow.
🔵 Take a moment to test your observation skills. Take three rounds of deep breaths, slowly inhaling and exhaling. As you take these breaths, look around the room and observe everything. Notice colours, textures, locations, sizes and shapes. Now close your eyes and recreate the room, see what you can remember. How many different colours are there? What item is furthest away from you? How many things are circle shaped? Open your eyes and see what you missed. Do this anytime you are needing to bring yourself into the present moment.
🟣 Take a moment to think of someone new whom you met recently. What was the first thing you noticed about them? What were they wearing? What do you think the first thing they noticed about you was? What was the last thing you said to each other?
Take another deep breath. Hold it. Exhale. Smile. Life is busy and we can easily get lost in the blur of the rush and miss out on so much. Take time this week to stop and observe. Observe how you are feeling within and observe what is happening around you. It can help us stay present and gain a better connection with ourselves and the world. So come on, Sherlock, be observant of this fascinating life, what do you see?🔎💚
