🔴 Take a moment to think about the last meal you made that was, for whatever reason, a total win. Surprisingly tasty, on a budget, first time trying, little ones loved it, whatever made it a win.
🟠 Take a moment to take a winning breath. First, think of a time you felt like a winner. Where do you feel that win within your body as you think about that time? Now imagine a golden glow radiating from that spot. Now take a deep breath in and feel the golden glow get brighter and spreading throughout your body. Close your eyes if it helps you visualise the glow. Gently exhale and feel the warmth of the glow as it retracts back to the initial spot. Inhale again to make the winning glow radiate again and make it go further this time until it glows right out to your fingertips. Exhale gently. Do this any time you are feeling frustrated or defeated.
🟡 Take a moment to think about some of the biggest wins in sports over the years. Maybe the 1960 World Series between the Yankees and Pirates? Or the 1980 ‘Miracle on Ice’ at the Winter Olympics? Or when Simone Biles broke the record for most Olympic gold medals for an American gymnast? Or perhaps when Paralympian swimmer Ellie Simmonds brought back 2 gold medals for Team GB at only 13 years old in 2008? What other ones come to mind?
🟢 Take a moment to think about the last time someone made you feel like a winner. Who was it? What did they say or do that made you feel like a winner? Think of the last time you may have made someone feel that way too.
🔵 Take a moment to think about what song you’d choose to represent your home country to bring home the win in a global song competition.
🟣 Take a moment to think about some wins in your life so far. Which would be your top five wins so far? What three wins are you anticipating in the future?
Take another deep breath. Hold it. Exhale. Smile. It feels good to win. Very few would ever deny that. It can motivate us towards our next achievement and give our hard work validation. In contrast, it is also very easy to get lost in the rabbit hole of what we haven’t achieved. Whatever this week brings, take time to celebrate your wins, be they big or small. Got out of bed when all you wanted to do was stay under the blanket? Win. Chose not to get sucked into a pointless and negative conversation? Win. Got one thing on your to-do list done before noon? Win. Had one cookie when you would have usually had two? Definite win. Be kind to yourself and remind yourself just how much you are winning 🙌🏼🏆
