Welcome to your ✨Monday Moment✨

Take a deep breath in. Hold it. Exhale.
Pick a colour 🔴 🟠 🟡 🟢 🔵 🟣
Find the moment below with that same colour, then go to the closing moment at the end.
Take a moment to….
🔴 … ponder the fact that the distance from your wrist to your elbow is the same as the length of your foot. *Verify this carefully, please.
Take a moment to….
🟠 … cross your arms so that you can hold each of your elbows with the opposite hand. Sit up straight and as you slowly inhale, lift your arms slowly above your head taking care to not let go of your elbows. Hold for a moment and then as you exhale, slowly lower your arms down again. Repeat as necessary any time you need some calm and a quick stretch.
Take a moment to….
🟡 … learn the possible history behind “keep your elbows off the table.” 👉Some say it is because tabletops were often put on tree stumps or logs so putting your elbows on it would cause it to flip over. Whilst 👉others say it finds its origin in avoiding aggressive body language and behaviours at the table. Whatever the reason, I still get told off for doing it, do you?
Take a moment to….
🟢 … ponder what things you would struggle to do if you did not have functioning elbow joints. Need some inspiration? Try scratching your nose without bending your elbow.
Take a moment to….
🔵 … think of how many different ways you can 👉use the word elbow. Any idioms? Analogies? Metaphors?
Take a moment to….
🟣 … blow your mind by making your hand go from palm up to palm down without turning your wrist, thanks to your lovely hinged elbow. Follow these instructions without turning your wrist:
- Straighten your arm out infront of you with your palm facing up
- Bend your elbow, bringing your hand up so it is pointing straight up and palm facing you.
- Then slowly lower your hand down infront of you in a quarter-circle so that your hand ends up in line with your other shoulder, palm facing you.
- Open your arm out so it is straight infront of you again, your palm should now be facing to the left or right depending on which arm you are using.
- Now repeat step 2-4 again and you should end up with your palm facing down.
Take another deep breath. Hold it. Exhale. Smile. If this week brings some challenges and the need for a little more ‘elbow room‘ to deal with them, then allow yourself that space. Be aware of others facing their own challenges and allow them that space too 💙
