Take a deep breath in. Hold it. Exhale.

🔴 Take a moment to ponder this quote from the deeply reverential conservationist Sir David Attenborough: “The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it.” What do you think he means? Do you agree?

🟠 Take a moment to think about the last time you chose to conserve your energy instead of pushing through something. What was going on? How did that choice help you?

🟡 Take a moment to explore at least three conservation organisations and learn about the work they are doing to protect ecosystems, wildlife, and natural resources. Consider one small way you could support their efforts, whether by donating, raising awareness, volunteering, or making more sustainable choices in your everyday life.

🟢 Take a moment to learn about some conservation projects that are currently being put into action. Around the world, people are restoring coral reefs through underwater nurseries, rewilding former farmland to allow native species to return, protecting entire island ecosystems by removing invasive species, and relocating endangered animals like rhinos back into protected wild habitats. Scientists, conservationists, and local communities are working together in creative ways to protect and rebuild ecosystems damaged over time. What area do you think needs the most focus right now?

🔵 Take a moment for a breath of self-conservation. Sit tall, relax your shoulders, and gently drop your tongue from the roof of your mouth. Take a few slow, deep breaths in and out. As you breathe, notice that you do not always have to give away all of your energy. Breathe in slowly, and breathe out gently. With each breath, remind yourself that rest is not wasteful. The energy you conserve through sleep, nourishment, stillness, and boundaries helps sustain you through difficult moments. Repeat whenever you feel your resources becoming depleted.

🟣 Take a moment to think of a film that explores the theme of conservation. Have you watched it recently? Does its message clearly communicate the importance of conservation?

A closing moment to take another deep breath together. Hold it, feel it, and gently exhale. Conservation is the careful protection and preservation of what matters – whether that is our environment, our communities, or our own energy and wellbeing. It can happen at a personal, local, or global level, and even small actions can have a meaningful impact. Take some time this week to notice what you value, what needs protecting, and how you can play a part in conserving it.

Love this! I would personally start in-house. Just imagine if everyone did that what a difference it would make!
