Welcome to your ✨Monday Moment✨

Take a deep breath in. Hold it. Exhale.
Pick a colour 🔴 🟠 🟡 🟢 🔵 🟣
Find the moment below with that same colour, then go to the closing moment at the end.
🔴 ➡️ Take a moment to learn about the manicule. Dating back to medieval times, it was a small pointing hand used to guide readers towards important parts of a text, the early “arrow” before arrows became more common in printed material. These little guiding finger-arrows are still around today, often as emojis, but you’ve probably seen one without even realising. Have a think about where it appears when you’re working on a computer?
🟠 ➡️ Take a moment to listen to the rather lovely and inspirational tune Arrow, by Seattle indie folk band The Head and The Heart.
🟡 ➡️ Take a moment to doodle some arrows. Draw a few pointing in different directions, and notice how they feel when you look at them: a bit scattered, a bit all over the place, maybe even like they can’t quite decide where they’re going? Now draw a circle, and from the centre, draw arrows moving outwards. Notice any difference? When direction comes from within the circle, what changes? What do you think this could represent in life?
🟢 ➡️ Take a moment to learn about some of the symbolism of arrows in Indigenous cultures of North America. While meanings can vary between different nations and traditions, arrows are often used as symbols of direction, protection, and connection. For example, a single arrow can represent protection, two crossed arrows are often associated with friendship, arrows pointing in opposite directions can symbolise conflict, and a broken arrow can represent peace.
🔵 ➡️ Take a moment to take an arrow breath. Begin by sitting tall, relaxing your shoulders, and letting your tongue soften away from the roof of your mouth. Imagine you are holding an archer’s bow, strong and steady. On your back is a pack of arrows, each one representing a stress or something that may be holding you back. Choose one arrow. Give it a name, perhaps self-criticism, worry, or something on your mind right now. Place it gently in the bow. As you slowly inhale, draw the bow back. Feel the tension build as you hold it for a moment. Then, as you release the string, let the arrow fly. Exhale strongly through your lips with a soft “whoosh,” sending it far away from you. Watch it go. Notice the space it leaves behind. Repeat with another arrow if you need to, and remind yourself that you can choose what you carry and what you release.
🟣 ➡️ Take a moment to think of at least five uses of arrows that you see in everyday life. Can you see one from where you are sitting right now?
➡️ A closing moment to take another deep breath together. Hold it, feel it, and gently exhale. Across the world and different cultures, arrows often give us direction. They can point us in the right direction when we are feeling a little lost, help us hit a target, and remind us to keep moving forward, even if we’re not entirely sure of the path yet. So, as you head into the rest of the week, maybe you can think about where you’re being gently pointed or where you might want to point yourself. Nothing forced, just a quiet sense of direction to carry with you. So, where is your arrow pointing this week?

Your thoughts and comments are always welcome; this is a safe space. If this helped you today, consider passing it along to a friend who might need it.
