Welcome to your ✨Monday Moment✨

Take a deep breath in. Hold it. Exhale.
Pick a colour 🔴 🟠 🟡 🟢 🔵 🟣
Find the moment below with that same colour, then go to the closing moment at the end.
🔴 Take a moment to savour the short but sweet quote by American poet Walt Whitman, “Peace is always beautiful.” What does it make you think of?
🟠 Take a moment to create your own peace circle for whenever you need it. Sit tall and slowly inhale through your nose. As you exhale, let your shoulders relax and release the breath with a gentle sigh. Now imagine a circle on the floor, large enough for you to stand in. Step into the circle and recall a place that brings you peace. What do you see? What do you hear? What do you feel? Take a moment to breathe it all in. Step out of the circle. Pause. Now step back in and imagine someone who brings you peace standing in front of you. See their face, hear their voice, listen to what they are saying. Breathe in their peace. Step out of the circle again. Pause. Now step back into the circle and see that person in the peaceful place you imagined. Notice the sights, sounds, feelings, and sensations around you. Let the peace of the place and the person wash over you. Take a few slow breaths and allow your body to soften. When you are ready, step out of the circle and imagine drawing its boundary once more, holding those peaceful feelings safely within it. From now on, whenever you need a moment of peace, simply imagine the circle, step inside, and breathe it all back in.
🟡 Take a moment to learn about the origin of the English word peace. It traces back to the Latin word pax, meaning agreement, treaty and without war. In Roman mythology, Pax was the goddess of peace and prosperity who is frequently depicted with olive branches and a cornucopia.
🟢 Take a moment to think of someone who always brings you a feeling of peace when you are around them or think of them. What is it about them that has that effect? Perhaps it’s their patience, kindness, acceptance, or ability to listen without judgement. What could you learn from them? How might you bring a little of that same peace to someone else’s day?
🔵 Take a moment to think of a song about peace. Music has long been a way for people to express hope for a better world. During periods of conflict and unrest, songs of peace and unity have offered comfort, connection, and a reminder of our shared humanity. Which peace-themed song comes to mind for you?
🟣 Take a moment to learn a little about International Day of Peace, which is today. Established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1981, the day begins with the ringing of the UN Peace Bell in New York City, followed by a minute of silence observed around the world at midday. As well as encouraging efforts to build a more peaceful world, the day calls for a 24-hour global ceasefire, allowing humanitarian aid to reach those who need it most. What can you do today to promote more peace in your community?
A closing moment to take another deep breath together. Hold it, feel it, and gently exhale. Peace can sometimes feel like a distant goal, something reserved for world leaders and global events. But peace also lives in the small moments of everyday life. It can be found in a breath, a conversation, an act of kindness, or a moment of understanding. This week, think about what brings you peace. What small step could you take to create a little more of it for yourself and those around you? It doesn’t have to start with a grand gesture. As Mother Teresa said, “Peace begins with a smile.” 😌☮️✌🏻🕊️

Your thoughts and comments are always welcome; this is a safe space. If this helped you today, consider passing it along to a friend who might need it too.
