Welcome to your ✨Monday Moment✨

Take a deep breath in. Hold it. Exhale.
Pick a colour 🔴 🟠 🟡 🟢 🔵 🟣
Find the moment below with that same colour, then go to the closing moment at the end.
🔴 Take a moment to look around for something handwritten. When was the last time you wrote someone a letter, postcard, or note by hand? (Psst… if it took you more than a moment to think of an answer, that might be your hint to send one. Guaranteed to make you both smile.)
🟠 Take a moment to learn a little about handwriting. Did you know it can help improve brain function and memory? It is also said to facilitate deeper content processing, which is why many students prefer to handwrite notes when studying. Did you also know that the study of handwriting in relation to your personality and behaviour is called graphology? Next time you take a break, look it up and find out what your handwriting says about you.
🟡 Take a moment to ponder some famous writers. Who are the first three that come to mind? Are any of them your favourite?
🟢 Take a moment to take a writing breath. Grab a piece of paper and a pen/pencil (or open a note on your phone or laptop). Sit tall, relax your shoulders, and drop your tongue from the roof of your mouth. As you slowly inhale, write: “I am…” and pause at the top of the breath. As you slowly exhale, complete the sentence. It can be literal, like “…sitting on a chair,” or emotional, like “…feeling tired.” Whatever comes to mind is fine. Pause at the bottom of the breath. On your next inhale, write: “I will…” and pause again. As you exhale, finish the sentence with a gentle goal or intention, like “…write for ten minutes” or “…go for a walk after work.” Repeat as many times as you like. Use it as a quick reset whenever you need one.
🔵 Take a moment to think about if you wrote a non-fiction book, what would it be about, and what would be its title? And if you wrote a fictional book, what would it be about and what would be its title? And everyone’s favourite, if you wrote a book about your life so far, what would be the title?
🟣 Take a moment to think of a song that is about writing or a writer.
A closing moment to take another deep breath together. Hold it, feel it, and gently exhale. Writing can be functional; it can be therapeutic. It can be a lightning rod for your feelings and thoughts; it can tell a story only you can tell. This week, take a few minutes to write a few lines. It doesn’t matter what you write; just start, and the ink will take you where it needs to go.

Your thoughts and comments are always welcome; this is a safe space. If this helped you today, consider passing it along to a friend who might need it.
