Welcome to your ✨Monday Moment✨

Take a deep breath in. Hold it. Exhale.
Pick a colour 🔴 🟠 🟡 🟢 🔵 🟣
Find the moment below with that same colour, then go to the closing moment at the end.
🔴 Take a moment to think of a festive tune. Which one pops into your mind first? When did you last hear it, and does it bring back happy memories of festive times gone by?
🟠 Take a moment to try a festive firework breath. Sit up tall, let your shoulders relax, and allow your tongue to drop from the roof of your mouth. Choose a colour that makes your heart feel happy. Now take a big breath in and hold it for just a second. As you slowly breathe out, make a gentle firework sound (and yes, it is ok if it feels a little silly) and imagine bright fireworks popping, fizzing, and sparkling all around you in that happy colour. Repeat a few times, change the colour if you fancy it, and let each breath burst and fade like a firework whenever you need a boost.
🟡 Take a moment to ponder what ‘feeling festive’ means to you. What comes to mind? Is there an outfit that helps you feel more festive? And who do you most love to share festive moments with?
🟢 Take a moment to learn the origin of the word ‘festive.’ It comes from the Latin festivus, meaning joyful or belonging to a feast, and festum, meaning festival or holiday. Entering English in the late 14th century, it originally described days of communal celebration and rest, and over time came to mean anything cheerful, bright, or celebratory.
🔵 Take a moment to think back to your favourite festive tradition when you were little. Do you still do it today? Who started the tradition, and what makes it special to you?
🟣 Take a moment to think about your favourite festive food. Have you enjoyed it recently, or are you still looking forward to it? What is it about that dish you love – the taste, the tradition, or the memories it brings with it?
A closing moment to take another deep breath together. Hold it, feel it, and gently exhale. It isn’t always easy to feel festive, and that’s okay. This time of year can be so full of festivities, but be kind to yourself if you’re not fully there just yet. You can let a little festivity in, then a little more, at your own pace. Being festive isn’t about forcing joy – it’s about gently celebrating life, honouring time gone by and time ahead, and stepping outside the everyday routine, even if only for a moment. So as this year draws to an end, allow yourself some sparkle and joy, maybe see who else might need some too, and look forward to the year ahead ✨🎉✨

Your thoughts and comments are always welcome; this is a safe space. Feel free to share this festive moment with anyone who will enjoy it. Don’t forget to sign up to get your free ✨Monday Moment✨ every week straight to your inbox.
