Take a deep breath in. Hold it. Exhale.

Pick a colour 🔴 🟠 🟡 🟢 🔵 🟣

Find the moment below with that same colour, then go to the closing moment at the end.

🔴 Take a moment to think of some weird food combinations that actually go really well together. Need some help? Ever tried fries dipped in a chocolate milkshake? Put your favourite crazy-combos in the comments.

🟠 Take a moment to bring yourself back together through your breath. First, relax your shoulders, sit tall, and let your tongue drop away from the roof of your mouth. Next, lift your hands in front of you, palms facing each other, slightly apart, as if holding a box, with your fingertips pointing upward. As you inhale slowly, bring your hands gently together. Notice the sensation as your palms meet, and imagine the breath travelling down one arm, through your hands, and back up the other arm. As you exhale, part your hands and release the breath between them. Feel the exhale carry away tension, overwhelm, or any uncomfortable feelings, allowing your body and mind to come together in calm. Repeat this exercise whenever you feel a little discombobulated.

🟡 Take a moment to learn about the UK’s oldest mental health charity, Together. It began in 1879, when the Reverend Henry Hawkins founded the organisation in Middlesex, England. What started as a small effort to support people in distress has grown into a nationwide movement rooted in compassion and community.

🟢 Take a moment to think back to when you were little and your family got together for holidays or celebrations. Who was there and what did you usually do together? What is your happiest memory of those times together?

🔵 Take a moment to think of at least three songs with the word ‘together’ in the title or lyrics.

🟣 Take a moment to savour and reflect on this simple yet powerful quote by the wonderful Helen Keller: “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” Do you agree with her? Can you think of times when this might not apply??

A closing moment to take another deep breath together. Hold it, feel it, and gently exhale. There are countless reasons for us to come together – holidays, celebrations, meetings, protests, sports, the arts – the list goes on. When we gather, we bring together our thoughts, opinions, and aspirations. It may not always be smooth or easy, and it may not always be perfect, but being together offers a chance to learn from those around us and to share meaningful moments. The next time you are together with others, take a moment to look around, notice what you can learn from them, and consider what you can offer in return.
