Welcome to your ✨Monday Moment✨

Take a deep breath in. Hold it. Exhale.
Pick a colour 🔴 🟠 🟡 🟢 🔵 🟣
Find the moment below with that same colour, then go to the closing moment at the end.
🔴 Take a moment to explore the origin of the word box. It is believed to trace back to the Greek word puxos and the Latin word pyxis, both referring to the Boxwood tree that was known for its strong and durable wood, from which early boxes were made.
🟠 Take a moment to learn about the biggest cardboard box ever made on record. In 2016, the Smurfit Kappa Van Dam company in the Netherlands created a box measuring a whopping 40m x 20m to celebrate their 105th year in business. Within 14 days of setting the record, the box had already been recycled to be made into new packaging for their customers.
🟡 Take a moment to look around you and find at least three boxes of different sizes. What are they made of? What do they hold? Where are they from?
🟢 Take a moment to think about some foods that are served, or that you buy, in a box. What are the first three that come to mind?
🔵 Take a moment to take the ever-popular, 📦 box breath 📦 Get yourself comfortable, relax your shoulders, drop your tongue from the roof of your mouth and rest your hands on your thighs. Inhale for four seconds, hold the breath for four seconds, exhale for four seconds and hold the breath for four seconds. Repeat this a few times anytime you find yourself feeling anxious, stressed or unable to relax. Box breathing is a great technique to build emotional strength and create inner calm. Goodness knows we can all benefit from that sometimes. If you are a more visual person like me, try tracing each side of a square with your finger as your breathe.
🟣 Take a moment to imagine you have been given ten large cardboard boxes and you have an hour to create something with them. What do you make? Who do have helping you? What supplies do you need?
A closing moment to take another deep breath together. Hold it. Exhale. A box, by definition, is a square or rectangle receptacle typically with a lid, designed to hold things. You are not a thing. You do not belong in a box. No one does. So whatever this week brings, whatever decisions you make, whatever challenges you face, don’t let them box you in. 📦

Your thoughts and comments are always welcome; this is a safe space. Feel free to share this boxes moment with anyone who might enjoy it, and don’t forget to sign up to receive your free ✨Monday Moment✨ every week straight to your inbox.
