Welcome to your ✨Monday Moment✨

Take a deep breath in. Hold it. Exhale.
Pick a colour 🔴 🟠 🟡 🟢 🔵 🟣
Find the moment below with that same colour, then go to the closing moment at the end.
🔴 Take a moment to guess who you think is the most successful rock band of all time? The answer is after the final moment below. Do you have a favourite rock band?
🟠 Take a moment to learn about the three main types of rocks:
- Sedimentary – aka the turtles, not the hares* – formed slowly over time as minerals and particles settle in layers, often trapping fragments of pre-existing organisms. Think of them as nature’s time capsules, built with patience and precision.
- Igneous – aka the phoenix formations* – formed from the fiery aftermath of volcanic activity, these rocks emerge from molten magma. Some, like the stunning Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland, form striking intrusive (above-ground) structures that are often incredibly eye-catching.
- Metamorphic – aka the shape-shifters* – once sedimentary or igneous, these rocks have undergone dramatic transformations due to intense heat and pressure. The result? New textures and forms, such as those found in slate, marble, and quartzite.

🟡 Take a moment to learn the difference between a rock and a stone. Ready? A stone is simply a smaller piece of rock. You’re welcome ☺️ To elaborate a little, and according to geological-savvy people, rocks tends to be classified by how they were formed whereas stones are more about how they are used.
🟢 Take a moment to ponder the quote by rockabilly music legend, Carl Perkins, “If it weren’t for the rocks in its bed, the stream would have no song.” What do you think he meant? Do you agree?
🔵 Take a moment to name your all-time favourite rock song – the song that makes you turn up the volume, roll down the windows and unleash your best air guitar and drums.
🟣 Take a moment to ground yourself with a quick rock-meditation. First, settle your breath, relax your shoulders, drop your tongue from the roof of your mouth and slowly exhale through your mouth. Now, imagine you are holding a rock in your hands. Focus on how it feels. Is it cold or warm? Are the edges smooth or jagged? What colours do you see as you turn it over in your hands? Now take a slow, deep breath as you focus on any current stress or tension that you are carrying. Hold your breath for a moment. Now slowly exhale and imagine the rock becoming warm in your hands as you transfer the heat of any stress into the rock. Press the rock between your hands until it begins to metamorphose under the pressure, just as some rocks do over time. Repeat this until you feel the stress ease and your mind begins to calm – And of course, if you want to do this while playing your favourite rock music, you can do that too! 🤘🏻
A closing moment to take another deep breath together. Hold it. Exhale. Rocks are one of nature’s reminders that whatever we go through we cannot be shaped without pressure, time and change. They show us that strength and beauty often emerge from life’s toughest moments and conditions. So crank up that rock music and take on the week like the rockstar you are!

🤘🏻🎸 The most successful rock band of all time? The Beatles are said to be the highest-selling rock band, with an estimated 600 million albums sold worldwide. Followed by The Eagles, Led Zepplin, AC/DC and Pink Floyd.
Your thoughts and comments are always welcome; this is a safe space. Feel free to share this rock moment with anyone who might enjoy it, and don’t forget to sign up to receive your free ✨Monday Moment✨ every week straight to your inbox.
